Following yesterday’s post on Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz I have a link to a site showing ‘12 Exceptionally Long or Extremely Special Words’.
I take exception to crwth because w is a vowel in Welsh, even though it is a letter that is a consonant in other languages. It is pronounced /u:/ as in moon. Most languages have a very complicated name for this letter, which makes speaking URLs difficult, but a Welsh-speaker saying www sounds like an owl – oo, oo, oo!
